Local singer-songwriter Ben Sollee is coming to Bellarmine University Friday, February 10, with supporting act Justin Lewis.
Sollee, who describes his music as “classically influenced folk with leanings of R&B and soul” has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and remains close to his Kentucky roots: Along with being a musician, he is an activist who calls attention to environmental issues, including mountaintop removal. (And if you’ve ever seen a guy riding around with a cello strapped to his bicycle, that’s him.) Lewis also calls soul an influence, and has opened for Norah Jones and Bonnie “Prince” Billy. The two are working on an album to be released later this year.
The show will take place in the SuRF Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show following at 7 p.m.
