The weekend of August 9 th-11th will see the Louisville Water Company and the Louisville Zoo teaming up to celebrate water.
Yes, water.
The “Water Wows!” program kicks off on Friday, August 9 with a showing of the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift with pre-movie activities by the Louisville Water Company beginning at 6 p.m. On Saturday, August 10 the Louisville Water Company will show the importance of water to life on Earth from 11: oo a.m.-4:00 p.m. On Sunday, August 11th, from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. there will be a meet and greet with Sid and Scrat from the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift.
Whew. That’s quite a weekend.
There will also be fun hands on water activities from Louisville Water showcasing the Ohio River and how we get our fresh drinking water with a $1 donation to the Louisville Zoo youth board guests can also make a “water bracelet” that will be a reminder to stay hydrated throughout the day.
“Louisville Water is excited to “wow” Zoo guests with water trivia and experiments,” according to Kelley Dearing Smith, Strategic Communications Manager at Louisville Water. “We have an amazing natural resource with the Ohio River. This event will explore how water is a lifeline to our community. “
