There's always the possibility that no matter how obscure the writer, a fiction or poetry reading will cause you to forge a new consciousness in the smithy of your soul.

And there's the more likely possibility that the writing will be so God-awful that you'll be laughing your heine off at a writer so delusional that he had the audacity to air in public writing that's almost as bad as your thrice-started novel that you'll get back to once you get just a little more life experience (probably at the bar at Avalon).

With Louisville's most prominent emerging fiction writer, Tania James, featured on the front page of this week's Velocity, and April being National Poetry Month, now is a great time to look at Louisville's upcoming fiction and poetry readings.
