There's always the possibility that no matter how obscure the writer, a fiction or poetry reading will cause you to forge a new consciousness in the smithy of your soul.

And there's the more likely possibility that the writing will be so God-awful that you'll be laughing your heine off at a writer so delusional that he had the audacity to air in public writing that's almost as bad as your thrice-started novel that you'll get back to once you get just a little more life experience (probably at the bar at Avalon).

With Louisville's most prominent emerging fiction writer, Tania James, featured on the front page of this week's Velocity [4], and April being National Poetry Month, now is a great time to look at Louisville's upcoming fiction and poetry readings.
