Another day of Abbey Road on the River is in the books, and, boy, was it a great one! The crowd today was a little bit bigger than yesterday, especially after the working day ended, but everyone was friendly and relaxed.
The vendors had their booths entirely set up today, and it was fun to shop while roaming around the Belvedere grounds. The booths are set up differently this year, and it seems to work better. Instead of all the booths being crowded into the area left of lawn stage, the vendors are spread out around both the fountain and lawn stages.
My three favorite bands of the day were the Newbees, Ambrosia, and BritBeat.
The Newbees always put on an excellent show, but they were on fire today. Their arrangements were beautiful as always, and their musicianship has even improved since I saw them last year.
Later in the evening, Ambrosia took the stage. With their mellow sound, this show was perfect for attendees who wanted a relaxing night.
BritBeat took the stage under the stars to put on a show for the night owls complete with dance tunes and sing-a-longs. They performed as both the early Beatles and the psychedelic Beatles.
Tomorrow is sure to be an amazing day. The schedule includes a '64 feature concert with the Jukebox, the Return, and BritBeat as well as a Revolution show with All You Need is Love and the Newbees. Plus, John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful, will perform.
Don't miss out on all the fun! Spend Memorial Day weekend singing and dancing to the best music ever made!
