Locomotive trains remind of us of a time when things were a lot simpler. There's just something about the billowing steam, the chug-chug-chug of the pistons, and that delightful whistle that penetrates the air as it passes that makes us a little giddy. Yew Dell Gardens is featuring these enormous machines at a 16.5 mm scale in its first-ever Holiday Model Train Exhibit.
A fabulous snow village and model train set-up has been created by master model builder Bob Irmscher with support from some of the most talented model train enthusiasts in the region. In addition to the trains, kids of all ages will enjoy scavenger hunts and weekend visits from Santa himself.
The Yew Dell Gardens Express will be on display in the Yew Dell Castle Thanksgiving weekend and the first two weekends in December: 11/25, 11/26, 11/27, 12/3, 12/4, 12/10 and 12/11. Friday and Saturdays 10a.m. - 4p.m. and Sundays noon - 4p.m.
Santa will visit 11/25, 11/26, 12/3 and 12/10 from 11a.m. to 2p.m. Don't forget your camera!
The exhibit is Free with the price of admission. Adults $7, Seniors $5, Children (under 12) Free. Yew Dell Gardens is located at 6220 Old LaGrange Rd, Crestwood, KY.
