Flat12 Bierwerks and Tim Faulkner Gallery hosted FlatFest over the weekend on Saturday, September 19, at Flat12 in Jeffersonville, IN. The event was a highlight to end Craft Beer Week and to celebrate the eclectic local artists, musicians and brewers that Kentuckiana has to offer, as well as the community of supporters themselves.

FlatFest was an all day event, running from noon until midnight. However, if you arrived toward the beginning of the event — long before the first band and special guests, Tall Squares, took the stage at 6 p.m. — you may have been slightly confused. There wasn’t a large crowd, but the stage and gallery were set up, Eh Cumpari’s wood-fired pizzas were ready to be devoured and, of course, Flat12 and Against The Grain’s brews were flowing.

Flat12’s specialty taps were Centeno Grande, FBA and FUIBA HH. ATG’s guest taps included Sho'nuff, The Brown Note and Something Local. The musical lineup consisted of Tall Squares, The Jereactors, Dick Titty Blood Punch, Hot Prowlers, Buttercup and Van Buren.

If you were worried about the threat of rain throughout the day, Flat12 had you covered. The entire event took place inside Flat12’s warehouse located directly behind and connected to their taproom. The artwork, the space and the stage all felt like one giant exhibit — one piece of artwork in and of itself. Aliens hovered behind the stage in their saucers. A large, furry yeti and a cardboard unicorn creature cheered on the bands. More decorations and artwork lined the walls. And a time machine offered festivalgoers a chance to skip ahead or fall backwards and relive their favorite moments of FlatFest.

Hopefully you either stuck around long enough or came back later that evening to see FlatFest in full swing. Perhaps you even hopped in the time machine and took a short cut!
