Four plays. Forty minutes. Humana Festival will present its Ten-Minute Plays event on Saturday and Sunday.
The two performances will take place in the Pamela Brown Auditorium inside Actors Theatre, located at Opening night for Ten Minute Plays is Saturday, March 27, at 9 p.m. The other performance will be on Sunday, March 28, at 4 p.m. The performances are recommended for those of high school age or older due to strong language. Tickets for the show are $37 per person. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Actors Theatre box office at 502-584-1205. More information about the plays can be found by going to the www.actorstheatre.org. Four plays will be among the Ten-Minute Plays, one of which is Let Bygones Be by Gamal Abdel Chasten. The play uses a mixture of poetry, folk, bluegrass, and zydeco to tell a story of the issues surrounding progress. Lobster Boy, written by Dan Dietz, deals with a boy's attempt to fix his younger brother's inability to feel pain. Diana Grisanti's Post Wave Spectacular, meanwhile, looks at the sisterhood between three women, all of whom were allured to a man by his charm. The sisterhood is tested after they invite Jessica, the man's newest beau, to a party. Last, but not least, is a play from Greg Kotis called An Examination of the Whole Playwright/Actor Relationship Presented As Some Kind of Cop Show Parody. In the play, actors are trying to figure out why a bad play was penned, and the writer must explain. Other shows also taking place during the Humana Festival include The Method Gun, Heist, Ground, Sirens, The Humana Festival Gala, meanwhile, will take place on March 27 at 10 p.m. in Actors Theatre.
