A hunk, a hunk of burnin’ love! These Canadian made coloring books are unique and sexy. They’ve got a whole lot of Paul Rudd, Justin Timberlake, James Franco, and television favorites.

    2. Louisville is for Lovers LIFE LP

This a great gift for any music lover. The exclusive compilation of love songs by Louisville artists includes White Reaper, Quiet Hollers, Twin Limb, and Lydia Burrell. There are a limited number of color LPs, but you can download or send the digital copy to that special someone. They’re taking preorders now and the release is February 5th. Plus, there’s an Anniversary Showcase at Zanzabar on the 12th.

    3. Sassy Cards

    $4.00 or 10 for $30

These nifty handmade letterpress cards might just express exactly what you want to say this Valentine’s Day. Things like, “You’re my Type,” "I wanna sex you up," and "Let's get naked." Plus when you purchase these cards the Hound Dog Press mascot, “Daisy,” gives you free kisses. Lots of them.

    4. Jewels for Her and Him

I know, I know, jewelry, a total Valentine’s cliché. However, these local, handcrafted necklaces and cuff links reinvent the classic. The cuff links are repurposed bullets and the brass necklaces are simple, one of a kind, and affordable, I mean, adorable.

    5. Beer Valentines

    401 E. Main St.

Here’s a gift that's sure to go down smooth. Against the Grain’s Beer Valentine’s aren’t just clever, they’re exchangeable for a draft beer at their pub.

    6. Lucky in Kentucky Cookies

    1398 Bardstown Rd.

Kizito Cookies has a ton of delicious treats to choose from, but the “Lucky in Kentucky” pecan cookie is perfect for someone with sweet tooth and, of course, feeling lucky.

    7. Love Boutique

    140 W. Jefferson St.

We all know and (maybe) love it. I’m not sure if the neon lights necessarily promise undying affection, but there are plenty of “items” ranging from subtle to, uh, out there. Don’t be afraid to try something new this Valentine’s Day.

    8. Tandem Bicycle

    3928 Shelbyville Rd.
    Image: Cycle Smiths
Because one is the loneliest number don’t pump the brakes on this one! You could really get their gears grinding with one of these, baby. We tried to locate one in the local bike shops here in Louisville but turned up empty handed. We did hear that the Clarksville Schwinn shop in Indiana has a few though and the one pictured above is for sale on Craigslist through Cycle Smiths.
