As the song says, I’m just a summer girl. I wait all year to break out my strapless dresses and flip flops. The colder months leave me in need of a good strong drink, but the summer months get me in the mood for sweaty dancing, hopping patios and tinkling ice. Since summer will be over soon, be sure you visit these bars as soon as possible!

    1. Nach Bar

A Germantown hipster staple, Nach Bar is small inside with a big, picnic table strewn patio. Dogs are welcome, and lots of neat beers are on tap (I’m not a beer girl, but I’m told Nach is a great place for a great brew). I can speak for their gin and tonic—affordable and strong.

    1. Garage Bar

Probably the best summer bar on the list—this Nulu bar and restaurant is a veritable art piece in and of itself. When those garage doors are raised, and everyone is congregating around the light up ping pong tables and the taste of their lavender-honey-lemonade with vodka, (pictured) Garage is the epitome of what one wants in a summer bar.

    1. The Back Door

An oldie but a goodie, this is where the food is good, the drinks are cheap, the back porch is buzzing, and the white Russians are to die for. The chilliest hangout on Bardstown road, you’re guaranteed to have a good evening.

Any suggestions for bars that are better in the summertime?
