The Speed Art Museum will hold one of the most elegant spring galas, the 39th annual Speed Art Museum Ball, on Saturday, March 3, 2012. The Museum's exquisite Impressionist exhibition, Renoir to Chagall: Paris and the Allure of Color, will serve as the inspiration for the evening. The collection of magnificent Impressionist works from the Dixon Gallery and Gardens will transport attendees to the romantic French countryside or a Parisian café as depicted by artists Degas, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne and others. Guests will be treated to a culinary feast of French inspired cuisine followed by a night of dancing to the sounds of Indigo, a Ken Arlen Orchestra.

The Speed is honored to have Lenihan Sotheby's International Realty as presenting sponsor of the 2012 Speed Museum Ball.

Benefactor tickets for the gala event are $450 per person. The Benefactor evening begins at 6 p.m. and includes cocktails, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Dinner seating will take place in the Museum's galleries and among exhibitions ranging from thirteenth-century European art to contemporary art.

Friends of the Speed tickets are $150 per person. The Friends of the Speed evening begins at 9 p.m. and features cocktails, dessert, and dancing. Seating for late night guests will be available in the Museum's Sculpture Court.

As the Museum's largest fundraiser, the Ball supports the Speed's many education programs, exhibitions and family activities. The generosity of attendees helps the Museum to continue its mission of "discovering, together with our communities, the joy and power of great art."

The 2012 Speed Museum Ball is presented with support from Lenihan-Sotherby's International Realty, The Glenview Trust Company, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., Dismore, Sterling G. Thompson Company, and Sophisticated Living Magazine.

    About Bella Portaro

Happiness Cultivator. Blogger. Writer. Social Media and PR Maven. Dreamer. Louisville Lover. Blogger at Bella of Louisville; a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle is- by definition to me - the way in which one chooses to live their life. As I’ve entered into this chapter / book of my life with a strong understanding of who I am, lifestyle has become about the art of living well. This idea goes beyond creating a beautiful home and investing in my wardrobe. Living well means being kind, being good company, contributing to your community, and becoming a person of substance and grace. If designing a life full of substance and grace isn’t aspirational, I don’t know what else is. I love writing about events and things to do in Louisville. I hope you enjoy my posts and connect with me on social media!
