The first thing to know about Nick Anderson is that he was not born to be an editorial cartoonist. The winner of a 2005 Pulitzer Prize was a more likely candidate to slip into a position in the family business - The Andersons Inc. - as a third-generation scion in a Nasdaq-traded company headquartered just outside his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. But early on, at age 15, Anderson set his sights on political cartooning.
