Dr. Roberto Bolli has earned an $11.7 million grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, a subgroup of the National Institutes of Health. The grant is the largest nationally-competitive NIH award in U of L’s history.

The Derby Festival Board of Directors elected Robert "Rip" Hatfield as Chairman of the 2006 Festival at its annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Hatfield, Employee Assistance Representative for Ford Motor Company, has been involved with the Derby Festival for more than 10 years.
