Michael Bush and Brian Brohm of the University of Louisville were named to the  2005 Watch Lists for the 69th Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year

Former University of Louisville baseball player J.T. LaFountain has signed a free agent contract to play professional baseball in the New York Yankees organization.

The Derby Festival Board of Directors elected Robert "Rip" Hatfield as Chairman of the 2006 Festival at its annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Hatfield, Employee Assistance Representative for Ford Motor Company, has been involved with the Derby Festival for more than 10 years.

"NFL Europe is a great opportunity to improve your game by actually playing in games," said Texans head coach DOM CAPERS. "Dave Ragone took full advantage of the experience and I'm sure he's going to do everything possible to help his team win a championship."

University of Louisville coaches and athletics staff members will make six stops in June with the "Cardinal Caravan" in an effort to reach out to U of L fans.
