The Kentucky Derby Museum hosts a luncheon and after party in honor of the 2009 Breeders' Cup Champion
Last November a six-year-old mare named Zenyatta brought her 19-0 record into the Breeders' Cup Classic. The horse-who will be the focus of a Nov. 4 event kicking off this year's Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs-captivated crowds, especially during race 20 an the most breathtaking finish of all.
Equine artist and Louisvillian Jaime Corum captures the legendary Zenyatta with paint strokes.
Jockeys like Johnny Velazquez and James Graham (pictured) served up Grey Goose specialty Breeders' Cup cocktails to the likes of Mayor Greg Fischer and me to raise money for the Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund.
Last year's Classic was a race for the ages, as Zenyatta-- piloted by Mike Smith-- brought her undefeated record to the Falls City, only to fall by a head to Blame and Garrett Gomez.
The inaugural Breeders' Cup Zenyatta Celebration at the Kentucky Derby Museum kicks off Championship Friday.
Event is invite only from 7-10 p.m., with doors opening to the public at 10 p.m.
