    Kentucky Opera’s Production of: Gaetano Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love”

    Description: A gourmet 3-course meal with ingredients
    based on “love themes” as described in the opera can be enjoyed in this
    menu prior to the opera performance. Dinner seating times are 5:30 to

    dinner is $34 per person plus tax and gratuity. The pre-opera menu is
    the only menu available during this time.

    Description: The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft will
    host an opening reception for three new exhibits on Friday, October 22nd
    from 5-8pm. The opening is free and open to the public, and will
    include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a hands-on art activity.
    The new exhibits are:
    “Planes, Trains and Superheroes” - featuring more than 100 games,
    gadgets and toys that have inspired childhood imagination for decades.
    Guests will see all the classics, from pedal cars and tin toys to
    vintage games, action figures and trains.
    “Rooted in Place” - an exhibition being held in honor of the 15th Annual
    Festival of Faiths, themed Sacred Soil: Foundation of Life. The exhibit
    will feature the work of artists who have a strong connection to a
    particular place in time through the work that they produce.
    “Healing Creatively” - showcasing artistic expressions created by
    children, families and staff at Kosair Children’s Hospital using a wide
    range of media. This exhibit explores how creating art helps heal
    children in the medical setting and is made possible by the expressive
    therapy program at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

    Louisville's celebration of Oktoberfest
    originally got it's start in the historic Louisville neighborhood of
    Butchertown. After a decade of non existence in Butchertown, it returns
    Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Pointe (where Halfway to Forecastle was held this year). 

    The event will feature performances by Babyfishmouth, Supertruck and The Bad Reeds.
    There will also be plenty of German beers (Beck's will be the official
    sponsor) and food available. Proceeds will benefit the Butchertown
    Neighborhood Association.

    Description: Girl Scouts Fall Fest 5K - October 23,
    2010
    This event benefits Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. The distance is 5
    kilometers (3.1 miles), and walkers are welcome. The race begins at the
    Summit, and both teams and individuals are welcome. An un-timed Fun Run
    will also take place around the Summit parking lot for children ages 10
    and under. The first 100 registrants will receive a Fun Run t-shirt.
    All 5K registrants will receive a high quality long-sleeved t-shirt,
    coupons, and opportunities to win great door prizes. All award winners
    will receive custom-designed pottery from The Artist in You. Gift
    certificates to Fleet Feet Sports will be given to the top three overall
    and top Master and Grandmaster. Awards will also be given to the top
    three in each age group: 14 and below, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,
    35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and above. One
    overall team prize will be awarded (5 members to a team, coed--must have
    at least 2 females).

    Making Strides Against Breast Cancer non-competitive, family-friendly,
