YMCA waives community wide join fees this weekend [Family and Parenting]

YMCA of Louisville is opening up a new location in Norton Commons. And this weekend, they are celebrating their expansion by waiving the joining fees for community wide memberships. This offer is not available online; you have to join over the phone or in person at any of the 13 locations throughout Kentuckiana.

The YMCA is a great fit for families. The Kids’ Club is a convenient place to bring your kids while you exercise. The birthday party space is ideal and very affordable. Once you become a member, you receive lots of amenities at a reduced price. My family has also made use of the YMCA after school care and had a great experience.

We took my daughter to the Northeast YMCA when she was a preschooler to learn how to swim. I was pretty impressed with the program and would recommend them for swim lessons. My daughter, being the thrill seeker that she is, would have nothing to do with the huge giant slide off which the kids were plummeting down into the water. But she swims very well now, and she got a great start at the YMCA.

At the YMCA, you get a lot out of your monthly dues. There are plenty of locations around Louisville, and the addition to Norton Commons will be well used. The new facility is set to open early in 2013. Take a sneak peek tour on September 29 and 30 from 12-6pm.
