The Worlds Largest Annual Zombie Walk on Bardstown Road
    Print this page

Every August 29th, for the past 9 years Louisville is invaded by Zombies. At 8:29 pm, Bardstown Road will be wall to wall foot traffic of about 15-18,000 zombies. Starting at Midcity Mall, the Zombies will walk down Bardstown road, turning right onto Grinstead and conclude at The Monkey Wrench.

"This event grew out of a birthday party for the two organizers who share a birthday (yep. 8/29). It was a themed birthday, Zombies. That’s How it began, and in keeping with historical fact, anyone is susceptible to becoming infected; young, old, big or small, no one is excluded" (http://www.louisvillezombieattack.org/faq/).

The pre-party starts at 6 at The Back Door. They will be screening The Return of the Living Dead. It's a "make up and movie" party. Due to the predicted crowd, they have also added pre-parties at The Big Bar, and the Highland Tap Room. Big Bar will be having drink specials and will raffle off a deluxe gift basket from Old Forester.

After the zombies march down Bardstown, the will end up at The Monkey Wrench where from 9 to Midnight there will be a block party on the 1000 block of Barret Avenue! Here there will be a costume contest on the main stage as well as a concert from Squeezebot and Vice Tricks. At The Monkey Wrench, there will be performances from The Revenants, All Dead, Pelts, DJ Count Gronzy and DJ Rev. Spook from 9 pm to 2 am. Barret Bar & Grill will host zombie bike polo with the Louisville Hardcourt Bike Polo Club on the Barret Bar hardcourt from 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.
