For many Forecastle-goers, record store patrons, and live music watching Louisvillians out there, one of your best sources for music, both local and national, is 91.9 WFPK Radio Louisville. Perhaps you are an individual who soaks in the rays at WFPK Waterfront Wednesdays or you are faithful enough to be a member to get special members only shows at their performance studio and first alerts about new concerts in town. Regardless, WFPK has been around for a while and ratings will tell you they know what they are doing.

So with that said, they came out with a list of their top 100 albums of 2014, many of whom they championed on the airwaves or hosted in town at any number of shows at a local venue. The top 5 albums of 2014 according to WFPK are:

    5.  White Reaper – S/T
    4.  The Black Keys – Turn Blue
    3.  St. Vincent – S/T
    2.  Jack White – Lazaretto
    1.  Lake Street Dive – Bad Self Portraits

That's two previous Forecastle headliners (The Black Keys, Jack White), one Waterfront Wednesday headliner (Lake Street Dive), and one local band (White Reaper).

The list includes 12 bands with close Louisville connections (local band or artists originally from Louisville).

Check out the full list on wfpk.org. On that same page you can find the top 10 lists of WFPK DJs Sean Cannon, Kyle Meredith, Michael Young, Matt Anthony, and Nightvisions Radio.
