Get up! Get out! Every Wednesday, Louisville.com Healthy Heart Beat writer Emily Ruppel offers suggestions for events and activities in Louisville that will help keep your spirits high and your blood pressure low.
On Friday, February 12th or Saturday, February 13th, get a head start on Valentine’s day with a little stroll through a gigantic park. Jefferson Memorial Forest will be hosting a V-day hike for all the lovers (of nature) in Louisville.
Couples in hiking boots will start walking at 7:30, and for $25, will be treated to a romantic candle-lit hike that ends with a view of Louisville’s lights from the scenic Manor House.
If the hills freeze over this week, that's good news, but remember to come prepared for mushyness (and I don't mean PDA [Well, maybe a little PDA...]).
Following the hike, couples will enjoy a roaring fire, hot drinks and gourmet desserts within the Manor House. So get out there and earn your hot chocolate!
The Forest is located off the Gene Snyder Freeway and Interstate 65 at 11311 Mitchell Hill Road. To register, call 502/368-5404 or e-mail the Forest at forest@louisvilleky.gov.
