My own fiance is deployed to Afghanistan, and has been since January of this year. It warms the cockles of my heart to see restaurants honoring veterans and active duty military by offering discounts or free meals. The Village Anchor is one of my very favorite Louisville restaurants, (it seems they are everyone's favorite, since they're consistently voted a Leo's Choice for best Louisville restaurant) and they are keeping it classy as usual by offering free dinner to veterans and active duty military this Sunday, November 11, Veteran's Day.

From 5pm to 9pm the Village Anchor will be offering a complimentary meal for Veterans and Active Duty Military. The Anchor will be offering short rib, half a roast chicken, and salmon with risotto for this special promotion. Vets can enjoy an entree, a salad, and a dessert absolutely free (no alcohol included guys and gals, sorry! For the record, however, it is worth the extra few bucks to have some of the Anchor's delicious cocktails). This is a great opportunity to sample some five star fare, whether you're a five star general or a measly little private! I know if my own Sergeant was in town, we would be there with bells on.

Don't forget to generously tip your servers! Reservations are recommended, call 502-708-1850.
