Thursday, September 27th Victor Wooten will be performing at the Diamond Pub & Billiards at 630 Barret Ave. Louisville, KY 40204. Wooten is arguably the best bass guitarist in the world and comes from a military family where all his brothers played and sang music. Regi Wooten taught Victor Wooten how to play the bass guitar at the age of three, and Victor started playing in his brothers' band at age 5. In 1985 the brothers recorded an album. With little response to the album the brothers all ended up pursuing other musical endeavors. A few years later Victor and his brother Ray Wooten on drums would team up with critically acclaimed banjoist Bela Fleck along with Howard Levy on piano to create Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, a five time Grammy award winning fusion jazz/bluegrass group. In the 90's Victor started branching out into a solo career. Victor rececntly released two cds on September 25, 2012 called "Sword and Stone" and "Words and Tones." Watch the video below to hear Wooten talk about his new cds.
