Christmas is only a couple of days behind us and I already find myself looking for ways to extend the holidays. The tree still gets plugged in and I find myself double checking my DVR to make sure my recorded Christmas shows are still there. I am torn between wanting to start straightening up my living room and wanting to keep all the presents under the tree.
You get the idea.
One way for those in the same boat as I am to extend the holiday spirit is to head down to the Muhammad Ali Center to catch their Once Upon a Holiday Exhibit before it ends on January 6, 2013.
The Once Upon a Holiday exhibit showcases holidays around the world, such as Eid and Diwali. Visitors walk through life-sized storybook pages that explain how other cultures celebrate this season.
The exhibit is collaboration between the staff of the Muhammad Ali Center, Marcy Werner and her students from the University of Louisville.
Admission to the exhibit is included in the Center’s regular admission price.
The Muhammad Ali Center is an interactive museum founded on Muhammad Ali’s Six Core Principles of: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality.
So, continue the holiday spirit by learning about holidays around the world. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover a new way for your friends and family to celebrate next year.
