Superchef's is my new favorite breakfast place (two words: candied bacon) so imagine my joy when I was informed that the Superchef himself is opening a new lunch place, Bloom's Lunch Cafe.

Located at 307 Wallace Avenue, St. Matthews, (inside the Ruby Slipper) and open Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00am to 3:00pm; Bloom's Lunch Cafe offers catering, delivery and dine-in. The menu is a hodgepodge of traditional American lunch fare, broken into soups, salads and sandwiches.

I am particularly excited to try the smoky butternut squash soup with crisp pancetta. The fruit salad with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, kiwi, smoked grapes, mandarin oranges, sugar pecans, mixed greens and granola chips looks like the perfect spring or summer lunch, especially if you're trying to fit into a bikini. I can't decided between the C-BLT (candied bacon, lettuce and tomato) on a pretzel bun, grilled Boursin and American cheese sandwich drizzled with honey on foccia bread, or Bloom's Burger with sweet onion jam, smoked Gouda, and candied bacon.

If you have tried this new lunch spot, leave your opinion in the comments!
