    Bit to Do

LouisvilleIf you’re not jetting off to Panama City Beach or Pigeon Forge next week, good for you! Louisville is the place to be for your Spring Break staycation. Kick off your school-free week by checking out the Flea Off Market, March 8th and 9th at Fresh Start Growers’ Supply. Get great food from local food trucks and choose goods from the many local vendors. Or just bring your dog out for a Sunday walk around the market.

After that, head on over to see Ghost on Broadway at the Kentucky Center. Running from March 11th-16th with tickets starting at just $25, it’ll be easier than ever to reenact the pottery scene – if you’ll be Demi Moore, I’ll be Swayze. There’s also The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) playing at the Alley Theater with tickets at a cool $20. For the brand new theater’s opening weekend, all of Shakespeare’s work will be jam-packed into a two-hour show on Friday the 7th.

If theater isn’t really your thing, check out the Crosby, Stills, and Nash concert on the 8th at the Palace so you can "Love The One You’re With" (or just sing along to Crosby, Stills and Nash's hit song). Looking for something cheaper and more adorable? Check out the 2014 Kentuckiana Cluster All Breed Dog Show. Price of admission for the All-Breed Dog Show is merely $6, and you’ll be in puppy heaven from March 12th through the 16th.

Finish the week strong at the annual (and infamous) St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Drink green beer and hang out all day in the Highlands. The celebration will span from the Mid-City Mall all the way down to Phoenix Hill, so it’ll surely be a “Great Day for the Irish”, the theme for the parade’s 41st anniversary on March 15th.

Who says you have to go away for Spring Break? Enjoy your vacation right here in the greatest city on earth!
