Is it ever too early to prepare for the Derby? The April 16 date set for Thunder Over Louisville suggests not.
Thunder Over Louisville, the largest annual fireworks display in North America, is one heck of a way to mark the beginning of the Derby Festival, and the Jeffersonville Bristol Bar and Grille (700 W. Riverside Drive, Jeffersonville) is giving you a head start on planning how and where you’ll see the show.
On Saturday, March 12, it’ll be offering complimentary green chili wontons and a look at some of the riverfront tables that are up for grabs during the big show.
Prices start at $95 each for a barstool and go up to $170 each for a chair in a prime viewing area. That may sound like a chunk of change but it also includes their buffet and non-adult beverages (but honestly, who’s drinking iced tea that night).
I'm not quite sold on paying $170 a chair, but I might head over just to try those wontons I’ve heard so much about. They may not get me to buy a table for the evening, but they might just persuade me to come back for more wontons.
