What a great way to kick off Kentucky Derby week. On Monday, April 29, 2013 Second Stride, a 501(c) (3) non-profit facility that retrains retired thoroughbred racehorses to new careers and then adopts them out, will have their Kentucky Derby Party at Molly Malone’s Highlands location on Baxter Avenue.

This is a fundraiser for their facility where retired racehorses come in and get retrained after their racing careers are over with the goal of adopting them out to new homes. 10% of all sales at Molly Malone's during this event are donated to Second Stride. Last year’s event raised a whopping $15,000 for the housing, retraining, and transitioning of retired thoroughbred racehorses at Second Stride's facility.

This event starts at 5:30 pm and runs until ???? A donation of $10 is suggested for this event. You will get to meet some of the Derby’s owners, trainers, and celebrity Derby guests at this event. You will have a chance to win great Thoroughbred memorabilia prizes.

A silent and live auction will take place which includes Kentucky Derby related items, experience packages, sports items, and more and 100% of funds raised through these go to Second Stride.

This fundraiser last year helped Second Stride get 78 Thoroughbreds adopted out last year.
