    Bit to Do

Construction workers have been laboring around the clock to ensure that the River Run Waterpark is finished on schedule. The new $8 million water park has been under construction on the site of the Camille Wright Pool, which has been closed for 10 years.

“A project like this in New Albany is long past due,” New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan said. “I mean we really needed a facility like this for a long time.”

River Run Family Water Park, which will open on June 26, features a swimming and wading pool with a large steamboat play feature, splash pads, a lazy river and four different slides.

“There’s a lot of amenities here, something for everybody,” Gahan said.

This is one of many improvements Gahan has made to New Albany since taking office three years ago. "We've also completed the sports complex over on Silver Street, we've redone Main Street so we've had a lot of public investment here recently to get New Albany back in the running to be a top place to live in the Metro area," Gahan said.

Season passes and family passes for River Run are available at Silver Street Park, and anyone who purchases a Family Pass or Season Pass before July 1 will receive a 50 percent discount off a 2016 season pass.

Floyd County residents will pay only $7 for a day pass and $65 for the year. A yearly family pass will cost $225. Residents of Clark and Harrison Counties will be charged $8 per day to use the park, while other Indiana residents will pay $10.

Non-Indiana residents will be charged $15 per day
