Though spring plans can often be spoiled by precipitation, the real troopers will still be found sloshing around thru the puddles. The Germantown beer walk was originally intended for this up and coming weekend, but has been pushed back until the weekend of May 8th, leaving many intended participants party plans in flux. No worries people, because the faithful will be out whether it rains or shines, and the neighborhood bars will still be getting down as if they hadn't heard the news.
Germantown beer walking plans were pushed back because the seventy percent rain chances that are intended to last from Friday until next Tuesday didn't sound appealing to the droves that scheduled their weekends around this event. And truthfully, who could blame them? I've been attending this event for years, and have never seen one rescheduled, but can understand the reasoning of the bars that set up this yearly gathering. This area has seen its share of new life, the remodeling of old establishments, and the uprising of newer ones. This neighborhood once again has a great sense of excitement orbed around it, and though the rain wouldn't have kept away the true Germantown crowd, it would have definitely kept away many of the others that would have only came out for a dry evening. For such a gathering to be shuttered under umbrella indeed would be a travesty, especially when so many people won't have the opportunity to see the heart that pumps blood thru these streets. If you're still going to make it out this weekend and don't mind getting a bit wet, then show your face at any one of the bars in Germantown, because regardless of the weather, a good time will still be just around the corner.
