Still undecided about whom to vote for in tomorrow's primary for
Metro Louisville mayor? Last week we sent questionnaires to all the
Democratic and Republican candidates vying to replace the outgoing
dapper Jerry Abramson. But rather than ask about jobs, bridges and
downtown development, we hit on the important issues: bars, tattoos and
keeping Louisville weird. We asked candidates to answer at least five
questions from a list of 10. The responses we received will be posted
    today, in random order.

    What’s your favorite possession?

My desert stone ring I wear on my right hand that was bequeathed to me by my Aunt Lee Wulf.

How would you help “keep Louisville weird?”

Keeping Louisville Weird is about personal responsibility. I would like to see a campaign that increases awareness about local businesses and the impact they have on our economy.

For example – Instead of shopping at Toys-R-Us, shop at The Toy Shoppe or visit Horton’s Hardware instead of Home Depot to ensure that $45 out of $100 stays in the city instead of $15 when you shop at national chain stores.

    Best bar in town?

O’Shea’s Back Bar. It is small enough to feel like you own it, they play the best music late night, and it is a short City Scoot ride home.

    Favorite all-time Louisville restaurant?

Mayan Café’. The best goat cheese and black bean tapas with lima beans in the world.

Louisville: Gateway to the North? Gateway to the South? Or Gateway to the _______________?

Gateway to the Best Place you will ever live!

    Favorite local sports team?

St. Francis of Assisi Cougars who are the most fun to watch on Saturday mornings regardless of the sport.

Your biggest guilty pleasure in town?

Sitting on the L&N Wine Bar patio on a beautiful evening with a flight of amazing red wines.

If you were forced to get a tattoo today, what would you get?

    An exclamation point!

Bardstown Road, Frankfort Avenue or Market Street?

Bardstown Road on a bike on a Saturday morning. It has the best shopping, restaurants and people watching in town.

Biggest missed opportunity the city has had?

Well, I don’t have a crystal ball, but I would have to project and say, not electing me as the next Mayor of Louisville, in my opinion, will be a very big missed opportunity.
