Don't be cruel! Just be a beautiful dreamer and get a ticket to ride down to My Old Kentucky Home State Park for Stephen Foster, an Elvis musical, a Beatles tribute, and more this summer

During the season, My Old Kentucky Home State Park will be the site for theater shows and concerts, including: The Stephen Foster Story (June-August), All Shook Up (July-August), and a concert series (varying dates). My Old Kentucky Home State Park is located in Bardstown, KY.

The Stephen Foster Story tells the tale of the man who created Kentucky's anthem, "My Old Kentucky Home", among other classics like "Oh! Susanna", "Beautiful Dreamer", and "Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair". In its 57th year running, Story illustrates the inspirations behind some of those songs and the struggles and successes in Foster's life in the 1850s. The musical will run on various days from June 13-August 15.

Also running during the summer is the Elvis-related musical All Shook Up. The show features some of Elvis's best-known songs, including "Jailhouse Rock", "Heartbreak Hotel", "Don't Be Cruel", and more. The interwoven storyline features a girl who wants to leave small town life behind for love and adventure. A guitar-playing, hip-shaking young man named Chad may be her ticket out. All Shook Up will go on Thursdays and Saturdays from July 9-August 1.

Tickets for the musicals range in price from $11-$24 per person. A breakdown of the prices and how to purchase tickets for both shows can be found at the Stephen Foster Productions website.

On selected nights during the summer, concerts focusing on music from many eras and styles will have their showcases. The Beatles-tribute band 1964 The Tribute will perform on June 22 followed by the Nashville southern rock style of The Cadillac Three on July 20. Local legends The Monarchs will next perform on August 3, and The Highway Men Live, a tribute to Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash, will go on August 21. Finishing out the summer series on September 11 is the Midnight Special tribute, featuring music from Queen, Led Zeppelin, Bob Seger, and more.

Tickets for the concerts vary from $16-$26, depending on the concert. More information on purchasing tickets for the concerts can also be found at the Stephen Foster Productions website.
