Musicals, returning favorite characters, and original works are to be seen on the Bunbury Theatre stage during the 2012-13 theatre season.
During its season, Bunbury will present five shows, including: Driving Miss Daisy (Oct.), The Last Hanukkah Christmas? (Dec.), The Grass Harp (Feb. 2013), Another Cocktail, Dear? (April 2013), and The Boys Next Door (June 2013). All performances will go on at Bunbury Theatre, located in the Henry Clay Building at 604 S. Third Street in the Old Louisville area.
Season tickets are available for $75 per person. Single tickets, meanwhile, will go for $21 per person, $18 per senior, $16 per student, and $10 per child. Bunbury Theatre will open its season with Driving Miss Daisy. Widowed elderly Jewish lady Daisy Werthan will form an unlikely and life-changing friendship in mid-century Atlanta with her African-American chauffer. The production will run October 12-27.
In time for Christmas and Hanukkah will be The Last Hanukkah Christmas?, created by Juergen K. Tossmann. Goldstein and Klurman, the two aging chaps from last year's Hanukkah Christmas With Klurman and Goldstein, return to find a different world after the end of the world. They may even be the only ones left. The production will run from Dec. 13-23.
The musical The Grass Harp opens Bunbury's 2013 portion of the season. Dollyheart has discovered an elixir cure, one that her more demanding sister, Verena, wants to use for her own purposes. The Grass Harp runs from Feburary 7-17.
In April comes the original production Another Cocktail, Dear? The production will deal with women being unable to make decision that impact their lives. That production, still in the process of creation by Juergen K. Tossmann and Sallie Manassah, will run April 11-28.
Finally, the comedy The Boys Next Door will take place at Bunbury. Peek into the world of four mentally-challenged men and their sincere but full of despair social worker. The Off-Broadway smash will take place at Bunbury from June 7-16.
