Louisville Metro Police will be sending the largest numbers to this year’s Thunder over Louisville than ever before, according to Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad. Safety will be the top concern for city officials as they send over 1,150 law enforcement officials for security and traffic.
After the violent attacks at the downtown Waterfront Park, LMPD beefed up their plan for security at Thunder over Louisville. Conrad told WDRB that he wants people to feel that the event is safe.
“Thunder is a truly a great family-friendly event, and I believe that we want all young people to enjoy this event. We want all young people to be safe. That begins with proper parental supervision,” Conrad also told WDRB.

With interstates being rerouted starting at 8:30p.m. Saturday, Police, along with the Transportation Authority of River City, encourage all people to plan their way home prior to the event.
