    Pink Prom

Bust out that old prom dress, brush up on your dance moves and get ready to strut your stuff on the pink carpet! Get all dolled up, have your picture taken and dance the night away for a great cause. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, they are re-creating prom for everyone. Pink Prom benefits Susan G. Komen of Louisville, raising money for breast cancer awareness. Of the funds, 75 percent stays in the local community.

Of course the obvious question is, what do I wear? Go all out, they're asking guys to wear a tux (if they would like) or at least a nice suit. Girls can wear old prom dresses, if they choose, however any dress will do. The only dress code is no jeans. Be dressed to impress! Another great question posed, do I have to wear pink? Absolutely not. Participants may wear whatever color they would like.

Debonair made a special Polished in Pink Collection specifically for this event. Bowties and pocket squares are going quickly but can still be purchased at Revelry Boutique on Barrett Avenue. A portion of the sales go to Susan G. Komen as well.

In true Prom fashion, there will be a King and Queen. Participants were asked to nominate someone they know who has been affected by breast cancer. The winners will be announced Friday night at Pink Prom.

On Tuesday, Pink Prom met their goal of 400 tickets sold. As of today (Thursday October 4th) they have surpassed their goal by more than 50 tickets! Ticket prices are $35.00 for singles and $60 for couples. The sooner you get your ticket the better, tickets are limited and are going quickly, with only one day left, hurry to get yours now.

DJ Ryan Coxx and DJ Prism will be playing all night. There will also be some special surprises!

Only guests 21 and older are invited to this event. There will be a cash bar available and sponsored by Grey Goose and Bacardi. There will be an ATM on the second floor should you need access to one. Some food will be provided by vendors however no dinner, please plan accordingly.

You don't want to miss this! Pink Prom starts at 8:00 pm at The Gillespi and will run until 1:00 am. for more information check out  http://www.facebook.com/PinkProm or www.ThePinkProm.com
