The Butcher Babies stormed into Diamonds Concert Hall Wednesday and smashed their billiards to smitheerens. Featuring several local, or near local, acts as openers including Caducus, Left Hand Twist, Downfall NSB and Lac Viscious the Butcher Babies stirred the late Wednesday crowd. I was only hit twice trying to get photos near the mosh pit (you're welcome). The Butcher Babies made a return Louisville visit after performing at the Louder Than Life Festival last Fall. Although they are definitely for the rocker crowd they do put on a great performance interacting with the enthusiastic crowd and appearing to genuinely appear to love what they do. Heck, they turned Louisville into a thrash fest on a Wednesday night. Although the vocalists, Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, get most of the attention the truth is the band is tight and plays more than just a supporting role.
