It's time for another installment of Parents and Preschoolers, and this week we take you to the Kentucky State Fair for a full week of fun for parents and their little ones.
By downloading the fair's daily schedule for each day, you'll have the entire list of events and show times right at your fingertips. Here is a link to each one for this week:

    Monday - August 24
    Tuesday  - August 25
    Wednesday - August 26
    Thursday - August 27
    Friday - August 28
    Saturday - August 29
    Sunday - August 30

Today, (Monday, August 24), I would suggest heading to the fair bright and early this morning when the exhibits open at 9 a.m. It's a gorgeous summer day with low humidity and you're certainly guaranteed a lesser crowd than my family encountered over the weekend! If you are home with your children during the week, heading to the state fair during the week days is a great option. Today is also 88.5 WJIE Day at the Kentucky State Fair, and tonight's free turf concert features Casting Crowns with special guest I Am They.

This morning head to the upper level seats in Freedom Hall and you can watch the World's Championship Horse Show for free. It begins at 9 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. you can catch Steve Trash with the Spin Master Mobile Tour on the Kidz Biz Stage. The Fair Bears will appear next at 11:30 a.m. After that, head outside to the tents for some much needed fair food and then catch the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei on the Family Stage at 12 p.m. The Midway will open at 2 p.m. and you can purchase a Midway wristband for $12 at the ticket booth. It's good for all rides all day for one day for children ages 12 and under. Adults can buy an all day wristband for $25. Be sure to also see the JUMP! Ultimate Dog Challenge in the South Wing Parking Lot at 2:30 p.m. If you children want some down time and will allow you to watch a cool show, I would also recommend seeing Chef Maria Bell of Chef Maria's Bistro as she cooks up some Mediterranean de-list on the Gourmet Garden Stage at 3 p.m.

Check out this list of family fun tips for the 2015 Kentucky State Fair, and have fun any day you choose to go this week! The state fair runs daily from now until August 30.
