Usually, becoming a successful independent restaurant is enough of an underdog success story…
But Naked Pizza became a successful independent restaurant in a Katrina-ravaged part of New Orleans in 2006 while the city was still recovering. And they did it selling what they refer to as the “World’s Healthiest Pizza.”
So if you’ve already been that successful at facing huge challenges, why not just go after the other obvious obstacles that stand in your way?
1) Call out the pizza industry to quit being part of the country’s obesity problem and instead become part of the solution. (Naked Pizza prides themselves on offering a health food pizza full of prebiotics, probiotics, protein and lots of other impressive words.)
2) Plant one of your first franchises in a city whose main association to the pizza-makin’ business comes in the form of one Papa John???
Naked Pizza’s third location in the nation is open and celebrates this weekend at the corner of Shelbyville Road on Breckenridge Lane (Not too far from another new pizza joint).
Their “NAKEDoodleDoo” event runs from 4-7pm on Saturday and will feature samples, $5 pizza specials and food and merchandise give-aways.
