    Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical, Oklahoma, will be presented by Mummers and Minstrels starting tonight.

    Oklahoma

    will premiere tonight, March 19, and also take place on March 20, 26, and 27 at 8 p.m.

     

    Matinee showings will occur on March 21 and 28 at 2 p.m.

     

    The performances of Oklahoma are set to take place at the Anchorage School, located at 11400 Ridge Road in Anchorage.

     

    Tickets for the production will be sold at the door and are $12 regular adult admission, $10 for seniors, and $10 for students.

     

    Oklahoma

    , based on the Lynn Riggs play Green Grow the Lilacs, was created by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

     

    The musical features Curly, who is looking to invite Laurey to a social gathering.

     

    Laurey, while in love with Curly, pretends to be indifferent to him.

     

    Meanwhile, Will is looking to wed Ado Annie, provided he has the money to do so.

     

    What follows is a series of good times, humor, and tragedy.

    The production first premiered on Broadway at the St. James Theatre and ran for more than five years in its initial run.

     

    It has since been revived for Broadway performances multiple times.
