Mellwood Art Center has opened their doors to welcome submissions to their fourth annual poster design contest. Posters are to advertise the upcoming 2012 September Art Fair at Mellwood Art Center and usually include a combination of art tools and fall foliage.
All artists are encouraged to submit their design for the $500 prize for the winning poster. The designs and images used in the poster must be original and belong to the creator. Mellwood will purchase the rights to the chosen design, which will also grace the back of a few TARC buses for the month leading up to the art fair. Poster designs should include the words "September Art Fair at Mellwood" and the dates "September 8 & 9, 2012". Deadline for submissions is March 31, 2012; There is no fee to enter. (Multiple entries are okay.) Designs should be 8.5’ x 11’ and be delivered in person or by mail on paper or board to:

The art fair showcases art from Mellwood's 200 plus galleries and shops in addition to external artists selected by a jury. The fair is family friendly and free to attend.
Artists interested in having a booth at the show will have to fill out an application, which can be requested from Emy Benson at Mellwood Art Center (see contact information below). There will be a jury selection process to determine which artists are selected to be displayed. Booths costs $290 for internal art space and $295 for external art space. Last year's art fair showcased 165 artists, live entertainment, food and family fun.
