From the first strains of Manchester Orchestra's "I've Got Friends" to the last notes at the end of their set, the crowd was in full participation mode. I was thrilled to see that festivals don't vary too much from one coast to another,(no, that's not as pompous as it may sound) having spent the last 19+ years on the west coast. People sang along and danced to the music and a beach ball floated from one happy, shiny person to another. The Mr had never really heard their music before and I'm happy to report that he is now a fan.We started off up close and personal to the stage but, I have to confess that after the first few songs, I had to retreat to a safer distance several feet back due to all of the smoke.

The band didn't waste much time with idle chatter, focusing mainly on the music, but no one seemed to mind. All in all, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed their set and would definitely see them again.Until then I will have to content myself with listening to their latest release "Mean Everything to Nothing".
