    • "Since 2009, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jack Conway has accepted $263,500 in stock distribution payments from Kinder Morgan Energy, a Texas-based pipeline company that transports natural gas and petroleum products. Attorney General Conway revealed a $157,500 payment in 2009 and a $106,000 payment in 2010 from Kinder Morgan on a mandatory financial disclosure form that he filed with the Secretary of the U.S. Senate on Aug. 12. The report was due on May 17, but Conway requested and was granted an extension until mid-August." [Bluegrass Politics]
    • "Forbes and Yahoo have checked the numbers and they say Louisville was the hottest city this summer. Temperatures were above normal for 73 days." [WFPL]
    • "After 33 years, Tattoo Charlie’s is leaving the Taylor-Berry neighborhood of South Louisville. The studio’s original location, on Berry Boulevard just east of Seventh Street Road, will close permanently on Sunday, said owner Charles 'Buddy' Wheeler, whose late father Charlie Wheeler started the business. No jobs will be eliminated, Wheeler said. Artists and piercers will be transferred to Tattoo Charlie’s studio on Preston Highway at Outer Loop. Tattoo Charlie’s also has locations off Dixie Highway and in Lexington. [Courier-Journal]
