    • "The Jefferson County Clerk's office and the county Board of Elections have issued guidelines for late mailing of absentee ballots in Metro Louisville, and are taking steps to ensure ballots turned in at the last minute are counted The ballots must be received by mail at the election office at 810 Barret Ave. by 6 p.m. Tuesday. But if the ballot is handed to a postal clerk at the main post office by 6 p.m., election officials will come pick up the ballot and count it as being received by the deadline, said election spokesman Nore Ghibaudy. If you have not mailed your absentee ballot: The ballot should be taken only to the main post office on Gardiner Lane by 6 p.m. Walk it inside and hand it to a postal clerk.
