- "With the general election less than four months away, Republican Todd Lally surprised political observers last week when he outraised U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-3rd, in the second-quarter. According to financial reports submitted by both campaigns, Lally, a lieutenant colonel in the Kentucky Air National Guard, managed to raise $289,000 compared to Yarmuth’s $204,000 in the same period." - "The newest addition to the KFC Yum! Center is a 200-foot-long hanging sculpture that will traverse the arena's first-floor concourse next to Third Street. The Louisville Arena Authority, which commissioned the piece by Phoenix artist Al Price and will cover its roughly $200,000 cost, made the announcement at Monday's board meeting. Price's sculpture will be constructed of 50 metal panels built from curved stainless steel tubes -- a design meant to echo, in part, the nearby Ohio River and its bridges." [Courier-Journal]
