    • "Republican U.S. Senate nominee Rand Paul vowed Monday to introduce his own balanced budget for the nation if he is elected." • "The Kentucky Public Service Commission denied a request made by Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway to halt consideration of rate increases being sought by Louisville Gas & Electric Co. and its sister company, Kentucky Utilities. The commission’s ruling means that today’s hearing in the rate cases will proceed as scheduled." [LEO Weekly]
    • "A five-pump Kroger fuel station is proposed near the busy Kroger grocery at 2440 Bardstown Road in the Belknap neighborhood...Neighborhood leaders oppose the proposed fuel station because, they say, it would add to the area's traffic congestion and that lights, noise and fumes could disturb neighbors behind the site on Lakeside Drive."
