    • "The economy dominated an often contentious gubernatorial debate hosted last night by Kentucky Educational Television. It was the second time all three candidates appeared together in a forum. Incumbent Democrat Steve Beshear has declined to attend several other debates. As he has previously, the governor repeated that, thanks to his work over the last three years, Kentucky’s economy may pick up quicker than other states." [WFPL]
    • "The father-in-law of Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams has contributed $1.5 million more to a political committee that is paying for most of the broadcast advertising advocating Williams’ election. Terry Stephens, a Russell Springs businessman, gave $1.5 million on Oct. 14 to Restoring America Inc., bringing to nearly $4 million the amount he has given to outside groups supporting Williams this fall."     • "The Commission on Presidential Debates has again chosen Danville’s Centre College to host a debate between the vice-presidential nominees. The commission announced today that the 2012 event will be held October 11 at the school’s Norton Center for the Arts. [WFPL]
