Looking for something unique to do this weekend?  On Friday May 21st from 4pm-10pm, come on out to the corner of Longest Avenue and Bardstown Road for the Louisville Loves Mountains Festival!

It's a chance to get out and celebrate one of the things that makes Kentucky beautiful- Kentucky's Appalachian Mountains.  Music and poetry, food and beer will be available at this block party hosted by Heine Brother's Coffee, Carmichael's Bookstore and Kentuckians for the Commonwealth.  Proceeds from this festival will go towards supporting efforts to end mountaintop removal mining, a type of coal-producing method that is highly destructive to the mountainous region and its forests in Eastern Kentucky.

Admission to the event is free, will have children's activities and it will be held regardless of the weather.  There will be stage performances by the Potluck Ramblers, Appalatin, River City Drum Corps, Thomas A Minor & the Picket Line and many more, so come on out to celebrate Louisville Loves Mountains!
