This Saturday and Sunday, September 25-26th, Bellarmine University (2001 Newburg Road) will be hosting the Irish Arts Foundation of Kentucky’s annual Irish Festival.

On Saturday from 11am-10pm and Sunday from 11:30am- 6pm, is your chance to commemorate your inner Irish.

Whether you’re a fan of Celtic themes, you can do a mean Irish jig, or if you are just really good at consuming Irish beers- this festival is for you!

With plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family, it’s a perfect way to start your fall festival season!

Visitors will find cultural exhibits, Irish language lessons, children’s area, dog show, retail vendors and even a Mass held in Bellarmine’s chapel on Sunday evening.

While visiting the festival, you’ll be entertained by some of the region’s best Irish acts including music, dancing and singing.

Take a listen to the familiar Irish sounds of flutes, harps and of course: bagpipes.

Needfire, Robert Tincher, Guilderoy Byrne, Maggie Drennon and Alair are just some of the musical acts you’ll find at this year’s festival.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival includes several performances by the Mulligan Stew Players Company of “The Faery’s Kiss”.

Tabbed as a romantic comedy for adults, this folktale incorporates love, mystery, magic and humor as it celebrates Irish storytelling at its best!

Showtimes include Friday night at 7:30 pm, and two matinees on both Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.

As no Irish festival would be complete without food and drinks, both Jameson and Guinness Beers will be available. Irish delicacies will be provided by Louisville favorites Molly Malone’s and O’Sheas, Shenanigan’s and RiRa.

Ticket prices for the festival are $6 for adults, and children and seniors are $4.

Performances of “The Faery’s Kiss” require a separate ticket cost.
