The Louisville Crashers are known to be the life of the party, and February 5 will be the biggest party they have been involved with; the Super Bowl.  As part of a grouping of bands from across the country, The Crashers will be entertaining NBC VIP’s, guests, and talent in the Convention Center at this year’s Super Bowl.

NBC guests will be treated to delicious food while being entertained with some of  the 500+ songs in the Crasher’s repertoire.  Mark Maxwell, the band’s manager talked with Louisville.com about the event saying, “the chance that Cee-Lo Green, John Mellancamp, Maroon 5, or Blake Shelton may show up to hear us, or may sing a song or two is awesome, we don’t know how far this will go”.

An NBC representative happened to catch the Crashers at a wedding in town and within days, the band was booked for the biggest day of the year in football.  The Crashers are known for throwing themed parties such as Halloween at The Grand and the recent New Year’s Eve Bash, among being a popular band to play at weddings.

The band members met with Louisville.com this week for a chat.  Mark (lead vocals) and Max Maxwell (drums, backing vocals), whose family owns Mom’s Music, are excited about the playing for the corporate sponsors and talent, they want to, “get on more planes and go more places”, Mark commented.

The second set of brothers, Howard (guitar/trumpet) and Geoff “maestro” Gittli (sax/keys/flute) joined the current line-up of The Crashers, the band being as it is for just over three years. Howard Gittli commented about his experiences with the band, “we really have a great time around each other”.

Shane Isenberg and Jesse Vest jokingly commented, “we are still waiting on the paternity test”, about being the unofficial third set of brothers in the ensemble.  Shane is the lead guitarist and idolizes Paul Stanley of KISS, while the best kept secret in this group may be Jesse Vest (bass), former member of Days of the New and Tantric.

To celebrate the big gig in Indy, the Crashers are throwing a Pre-Super Bowl Bash at Wick’s in New Albany on State Street, February 3, 2012. The music starts at 9pm and songs such as “Hey Soul Sister” from Train, “This Love” from Maroon 5, and the classic from the B-52’s, “Love Shack”.  Tickets will be available at the door for $10. Pizza, beer, and loud music will be found in one place at one time-and help wish The Louisville Crashers safe travels to Indy.
