It was confirmed Wednesday that the sale of the majority interest in the operating rights to the Louisville Bats has been finalized. Stuart and Jerry Katzoff of MC Sports Acquisition LLC, completed the deal with Bats owners Dan Ulmer, Ed Glasscock, Gary Ulmer, Ken Huber, Steve Trager and Mike Brown. The two parties reached an agreement in which Gary Ulmer will stay on as President and the current ownership group will remain minority partners.

MC Sports also owns the Bowling Green Hot Rods of Bowling Green, KY and the Reno Aces in Reno, Nevada. Stuart Katzoff voiced the group’s excitement of the sale saying, "We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the Louisville community and especially with the dedicated fans of this very successful baseball team.”

This will be the Bats’ 16th season with both Louisville Slugger and the Cincinnati Reds. The Bats will play the Toledo Mud Hens on Opening Night Thursday, April 9th at Louisville Slugger Field. A special celebration will include $1 Budweiser beer from 5:30-7:00pm, live music on the Overlook Deck, as well as pregame giveaways. The 2015 Bats schedule is available online. Tickets go on sale March 2nd.
