Louisville is a whole world full of exciting opportunities when it comes to food. For someone new to the city, this is the perfect place for trying absolutely amazing cuisine and finding a new favorite dish.
And no one knows this better than Louisville’s locals. So in order to show their undying appreciation for food and the city’s ever-changing variety of delicious fare, chefs Jeff Harman and Lawrence Weeks of Jack Fry’s created LocalsOnly earlier this year.
LocalsOnly offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience to Louisvillians who want the most inventive local food the city has to offer. Through a series of pop-up dinners and unique one-night-only events, the small LocalsOnly team serves up impressively delicious food made from incredible original recipes. And no, you don’t have to be a local to get in on the deliciousness.
LocalsOnly can be found next at Meta on Thursday, September 24 for the Tacos and Turnover event. A repeat of the group’s similar first event, Tacos and Turnovers will feature an enticing menu and live jazz performed by some of Louisville’s most talented musicians, Carly Johnson and Craig Wagner.
Once the delightful music has set the tone for the evening, LocalsOnly will be serving up unique savory turnovers, a pickle plate, a variety of mouth-watering street-style tacos and simply scrumptious margarita popcorn which will be drizzled with tequila caramel and lime. Yum!
And don’t forget about the event’s specialty cocktails! LocalsOnly’s beverage director, Dante Wheat has a thrilling lineup of drinks ready for the night starting with a drink that’s sure to be a hit called "#Fire.”
Meta is located downtown at 425 Chestnut Street. The Tacos and Turnovers event will be held from 8pm-2am on Thursday, September 24 and admission is free!
