Gunnar Deatherage knows how it feels to compete with the big dogs of the fashion world. His persistence, preciseness and passion for his work gained him a well-deserved spot on the ninth season of the hit television show ‘Project Runway.’ The previously taped program will air Thursday, July 28 at 9pm on Lifetime.

Last time we checked in with him, Deatherage was waiting for the word from Project Runway producers. Because reality television is so secretive he wasn’t able to share much about his anticipation with local supporters and followers. However, that changed on Tuesday, July 26 as soon as the Courier-Journal was released. A large picture of Deatherage’s face along with an article titled “Project Gunnar: Local fashion designer fulfills ‘Project Runway’ dream” fills the middle column of the ‘Features’ section. Not to mention he’s got his own bio page on Project Runway’s website.

For such a young man, Deatherage’s accomplishments are far from average. At age 21 he has his own established fashion line called Deatherage Designs. He’s got thousands of supporters near and far, but especially local, being that he’s a Louisvillian. He’ll be the youngest of the 20 competitors on this season’s Project Runway.

Show some local love for this young, talented designer and tune into tonight’s premiere to see just what Deatherage is in for.
